IV. TRANSPARENCY OF FEVER


 

The stature of matter seems peculiar when dead, 

As Nature would have it 

Removed to transparent walls where I 

Looked for us dazzling in rare habit. 

Inner protest by pitchfork will follow 

Those who swallow the daily dose of thermometers, 

An act that starts at home, without choice 

And all the numbered sky above beyond these walls;
